A few words from the artist

Through my paintings I would like to visualize feelings, dreams, weird and colorful creatures or objects and unusual situations with the objective to distract the observer, make him dubious or dreamful.

A choice of my preferred quotations

Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible.

Color possesses me. I don't have to pursue it. It will possess me always, I know it. That is the meaning of this happy hour: Color and I are one. I am a painter.

Children also have artistic ability, and there is wisdom in there having it! The more helpless they are, the more instructive are the examples they furnish us; and they must be preserved free of corruption from an early age. (Paul Klee)

Abstract art places a new world, which on the surface has nothing to do with 'reality,' next to the 'real' world.

There is no must in art because art is free.

Every artist has to express himself.

Every artist has to express his epoch.

Every artist has to express the pure and

Eternal qualities of the art of all men (Wassily Kandinsky)

I try to apply colors like words that shape poems, like notes that shape music.

What I am looking for.. is an immobile movement, something which would be the equivalent of what is called the eloquence of silence, or what St. John of the Cross, I think it was, described with the term "mute music".

My characters have undergone the same process of simplification as the colors. Now that they have been simplified, they appear more human and alive than if they had been represented in all their details. (Joan Miró)

There are two men inside the artist, the poet and the craftsman. One is born a poet. One becomes a craftsman.

I am an artist... I am here to live out loud.

The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work. (Zola)

The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else.

There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others who, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun. (Pablo Picasso)

Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist.

My painting is visible images which conceal nothing.. they evoke mystery and indeed when one sees one of my pictures, one asks oneself this simple question 'What does that mean'? It does not mean anything, because mystery means nothing either, it is unknowable.  (René Magritte)

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.

Art is a selective re-creation of reality according to an artist's metaphysical value-judgments. An artist recreates those aspects of reality which represent his fundamental view of man's nature. (Marcel Proust)
